Hi David; I have never experienced the whine you describe but I have heard of others experiencing a vibration buzz that seems to center around the speedometer. The solution may be to take the speedo out and make sure the rubber gasket is contacting all around and that the three mounting bolts with springs are good and tight. You might have to experiment around with other parts too, such as the headlight. I had a high frequency buzz in mine, and found it coming from the electric wires inside the housing, they were vibrating against the side. A simple solution was to wrap them good in a rag. You probably have nothing more than a case of something vibrating which is very common with big singles. Hope this helps. Frank M
